This qualification is designed for applicants seeking a career in the security industry. The course focuses on the role of a security officer, who will be responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, and screening entry, monitoring behaviour and removing persons from premises. This qualification is intended to align with the following occupational licencing outcomes:

SLED is responsible for approving the duration, training, assessment and instruction requirements for each subclass of Class 1 security licences. The approved training, assessment and instruction is known as the NSW Security Licence Course (SLC).

Neat and tidy clothing and enclosed footwear at all times. There will be many simulation assessments where you are expected to dress as a professional security officer and will be assessed as such.

Ensure personal hygiene is a priority and be considerate of others, ensure to use hygiene products like deodorant

Clustered unit delivery: required 13 units for this qualification are divided into 4 Clusters..

Cluster 3 must be trained and assessed in the classroom and has specific physical requirement

• -Complete (stage 1) You must attend our office for initial entry requirements. Please check Studying security at SMTB;
• -Stage 2 Required pre-course workbook external/home study to complete formative assessment after enrolment, and
• -Stage 3 Approx. 3 weeks (15 days) of scheduled face-to-face training MUST be attended to complete SLED mandated summative assessment
